Hey retard, I didn't have any debris in my yard my neighbor across the street did. We had sustained winds of 60-65 mph for hours on end and I didn't even have so much as a shingle blown off. Solid brick homes were also sitting ducks, it all depends on how the winds strike. You know maybe your boyfriend should sit you down and explain to you that your self-crowned aura of knowing everything about everything does nothing to enhance your personality. In fact of everyone I have ever encountered on this board (or any in fact) you are about the most arrogant piece of shit of the bunch. Go fuck yourself.

For everyone else except reason, thanks for your words of concern. It was a rough weekend. We had no power from 12 noon Sunday until 9pm and then yesterday the power went off at 8am and didn't come on again until like 12 midnight or so.. I went down to the beach last night and never saw such angry waves coming in. A lot of shells but most were broken up. I still collected a nice handful.

County officials here must have been trained in Hamilton County. All day long Saturday they kept saying "voluntary evacuation" for people in mobile homes. At 5:45pm they announced a "mandatory evacuation" at 6:00pm. At the same time they issued a dusk til dawn curfew and it was already beginning to get dark because of the storm. So basically get out of your home, but don't be on the street. All the shelters were full, no motel room was to be had because of all the east coast evacuees and people here for Labor Day weekend anyway, traffic was at a standstill. So leaving wasn't even an option.

One county emergency official stated that this hurricane was "primarily a wind and rain event". Duh. My tax dollars at work, thanks for telling us something any 4 yr old knows. Yeah, most hurricanes are dust and snow...

As Sluggo told you, my neighbor had some debris in his yard although I trimmed a bunch of branches for him on Saturday so they wouldn't damage his roof. I helped him clean up this morning before coming to work.

Now Ivan is on the horizon but I'm too tired and weary to think about that today. We'll know better later in the week, it's too damned early to know, I don't care what they think it might do.

I don't recall there being a specific "issue at hand" other than the threat the hurricane was posing to me and my area. The evacuation applied to me, ofcourse. Did I jump in my car and go out only to be caught in traffic and head to my friend's house who was in more of the direct path of it than I was? No I'm not an idiot. Did I leave my dogs behind to fend for themselves with nowhere to place them? No I wouldn't do that to my dogs. Did I go to a motel or hotel when no rooms were available? No that would have been stupid as well. See you are full of answers reason without even knowing the practical limitations of your solutions. Out of over 300 homes in my park only about 10% (at most) evacuated. Last evacuation when they "ordered" people to leave they suggested people go to where Charley actually struck. Why should I put blind faith in some asshole official telling me to leave my home? Several mobile home owners were interviewed and they all pretty much mirrored my feelings on the subject. It was also funny how on the news even so much as a gutter was ripped off a mobile home the news media emphasized that this was damage to a MOBILE HOME. Yet when trees crashed into roofs of expensive brick homes it was simply the result of the storm's fury. Definite prejudice from some people against people who do live in mobile homes. There are almost 200,000 people in Pinellas County living in mobile homes. People like you with your nose in the air thinking you are better than mobile home residents because you live in a regular "house" make me sick. And yet you expect people to accept gay marriage without a question, yuo want people to accept everything you believe 100%. When they don't you cry like a little girl. You remind me so much of Nate. You think your shit doesn't stink and I assure you it does.

As usual you make no sense. Shelters do not take dogs. I guess you would just high tail it to a shelter were you in my place and fuck the dogs? My friend where I went last time was more in the area of the eye than I was, by 60 miles in fact. I should go there? There were no motel or hotel rooms available. I would be safer getting in my car looking for somewhere to go than taking my chances at home? FYI, after the curfew was in place anyone out on the roads was arrested and taken forcibly to a shelter. My dogs would have ended up at animal control, (local equivilant to the SPCA), if they were lucky. I have more regard for my dogs than that. What you would have done in my situation is your business and what I chose to do is mine. Besides, what's it to you? I don't owe you money. I don't owe you anything. You have no vested interest in my well being whatsoever. If the eye had come right through my home and ripped me to shreds what's it to you? Nothing at all I suspect. Just another smartass remark when you found out...
